Environmental Impact Assessments - depending on the projects size and impact range - base on comprehensive data baseline and a lot of information about the likely effects of a project. There is a broad variety of methods to be appy within the EIA procedure as well as in the EIS.
Therefore, there ist a strong need of information and knowledge and in particular of tools for support to all important steps. A Support System like EIA-SUSY offers a great oppurtunity to gather and structure these information, knowledge and tools.
What can be my contribution?
If the professional users of EIA-SUSY will participate in the system in regular submission of EIA relevant information, EIA-SUSY can grow and develope to a very efficient support system. After a time, it will present the 'good practice of EIA and EIS", so a minimum standard will be guaranteed.The first step to support the system is to become member of the EIA Expert Network. EIA-SUSY offers therefore a simple way of participation, so all interested persons can be a part of it.
